The ongoing pandemic notwithstanding, Delaware State University will feature the following Black History Month events during February:

  • 7 p.m. Feb. 3 – Secrets, Tricks, and Disguises of the Underground Railroad. Presented by DSU Downtown.
  • 11 a.m. Feb. 8 – Trauma and the Power of Resilience: A Different Look at the Underground Railroad. Presented by DSU Downtown.
  • 6 p.m. Feb. 8 – Breaking Barriers in Sports: Presentation by Wayne Richard Embry (the first African American NBA General Manager). Presented by the University’s Office of Career Services.
  • 11 a.m. Feb. 10 – Breaking Barriers in Aviation at Del State: Feature presentations by Lt. Col Michael Hales, Director of the University Aviation Program, and Nathan Thomas, original Tuskegee Airman. Presented by the University’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council.
  • 7 p.m.  Feb. 10 – Do You Know Where You are Standing? Secrets of Kent County, Del. Presented by DSU Downtown.
  • 9 p.m. Feb. 17 – Stories by Lantern: Night Business on the Underground. Presented by DSU Downtown.
