Jazz Imprints Reflects Clifford Brown Jazz Performers Over The Years
The Clifford Brown Jazz Festival has become an annual meeting place for many photographers. They all know they will reunite, network, exchange stories and share images. They appreciate the City of Wilmington and what it has provided to the public with the many international artists performing for the public. Hope states, "My favorite year, so far, was 2007, when the festival featured Stanley Clark, along with Norman Brown's Summer Storm Tour featuring Marion Meadows, Peabo Bryson and Jeff Lorber. It was fantastic." Jazz Imprints was formed in April 2009, by Hope Rose. She contacted Tina Betz and Jeni Barton, who are mainly responsible for organizing and making art accessible in the City of Wilmington. Jazz Imprints consists of area photographers that have been photographing the DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival performers over the years. The exhibit will illustrate a retrospective look at the live performances of several artists, including Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clark, Hugh Masakela and numerous other artist with their bands over the years. Each photographer will contribute five photographs. The exhibit would not be possible without the City of Wilmington, along with the Jazz Imprints sponsor, the law firm, Young Conaway, Stargatt and Taylor, LLP. The photographers are excited to share their images with the public, inside the Louis Redding Gallery of the the City County Building, 800 French Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. The opening exhibit and reception will be part of the Art on the Town - Friday, June 5, 2009 from 5:30pm-8:00pm. The images will be on display through June 30 at the Louis Redding Gallery. Aniya will be performing live during the reception. Most important, it is free and open to the public!
