On Saturday January 30 at 1pm, MeJah's Bookstore in association with Takerra Allen and Angelic Script Publishing, will host a book signing, meet and greet with Takerra for her debut novel, Thicker Than Water.

New Jersey native Takerra Allen, is CEO of the all-female urban entertainment company Heaven Inc. Thicker Than Water is her first novel, self-published by Angelic Script Publishing, an entity of Heaven Inc., created to give young, talented African-American authors the opportunity to publish and voice their creativity.

Takerra is also the proud daughter of former Black Panther William Garland and half sister to the late, renowned Tupac Shakur.

Ms. Allen’s novel has been described as an “urban chick flick waiting to happen” by author of the popular Dutch trilogy, Kwame Teague. Thicker Than Water, loosely based on the lives of Ms. Allen and her closest friends, follows four young Newark women through a summer of unforgettable events involving drama, lust, liars, mistresses and murder.

Dubbed the Sex and the City of the Hood! Thicker than Water is the powerful tale of four spitfire vixens hailing from the infamous Brick City - Newark, NJ, and their unforgettable journey through one mind-blowing summer of events! With good times, and bad times, fun times, and sad times, there is only one question left unanswered in the end about their friendship. Can it stand the tests of loyalty, and although it is not quite blood, is it Thicker Than Water?
