Last Of A Dying Breed: Ace
"Time is Now" - Off the album "The Last Shall Be First." Produced by Herb Middleton, Original Badboy Producer - listen now
Originally from Chester, PA, this young wonder of the industry is the CEO and Founder of Covenant Music Group Inc. As a recognizable member of the Wu-Tang Clan family legacy, he has a uniquely identifiable sound that is distinctly his own. Reminiscent of the 90's flava that was the ambiance surrounding Wu-Tang hits, with the swag of the present, Ace effectively plays on words and rides beats like none other. On his Myspace artist profile you can find songs ranging from inspirational all the way to dramatizations of real life experiences, with the edge of the street and class of a seasoned veteran. Ace has had the pleasure to produce, work with and have the close influence of artists such as Mary J. Blige, Jim Jones, Wu-Tang Clan, and Naughty By Nature to name a few. Also, in a similar lane are Ace's peers like Cam'ron, Kanye West, and 50 Cent. As a business partner of Herb Middleton, who is a founding force in the empire that we know as Bad Boy Records, Ace has been creating a buzz on the front line and behind the scenes as well.
Ace being a man of many layers has also had the opportunity to score 4 songs on the 2004 drama featuring Neve Campbell, When Will I Be Loved. Some of these works will be featured on the upcoming album, Ace in Retro, which is set to showcase a collection of songs from films, unreleased material and regional releases from his days with Motown and Universal. The compilation will be available on Itunes next month. As an artist in this fast paced industry, one hustle is never enough, so most of Ace's days are spent holding down the fort of his clothing store Numani Couture, in which NUMANI stands for NOTABLE UNIQUE MEN ARE NATURALLY INTELLIGENT. Just the name of the store itself sends a positive message to those who read the sign in the heart of Wilmington, Delaware's north side of town. Numani Couture has been open for approximately 2 1/2 years. Some members of the family occupied the location previously in 2006 while Ace moved back to New York to work on the Wu-Tang Album. In 2009, Ace also had the pleasure of taking part in the Afro Samurai Resurrection sound track, in which Samuel L Jackson won an Emmy for his participation in the project. Not only participating in soundtrack production for movies and cartoons, Ace will be making his first cameo debut in a feature film in the upcoming Wendy Williams biopic. From music, to film, to fashion, Ace the Future, is a fitting name for this force in the industry who just so happens to bring a piece of real Hip Hop culture to the first state. Ace Considers himself to be the last of a dying breed, and from the sound of the music there could be no better title. With an upcoming album entitled "Last Should Be First and First Should Be Last," Ace is bringing back the essence of what the watered down current state of Hip Hop doesn't bring. "A unique style is what I have, (the) greatest thing I'm doing with this project is bringing the soul of the 90's sound fused with a little bit of the present" says Ace. "I'm one of the last artist of that era, Wu Tang, Cam, Naughty By Nature...the list goes on. I grew up in the game, I saw it from a lot of different levels". Being in the entertainment industry you have to have faith in something and what Ace believes is this, "I believe in God and I'm humble, I've been around a long time in the business, and you have to stay humble. A lot of artists are characters, my image is to be me." You can check out Ace on all social networks under AceTheFuture or Numani Couture on FB. Ace can also be found on the Wu-Tang official Myspace page, and his own Youtube channel Acethefuturetv. Humble but extremely talented with a history that is as bright as his future, there is another word for number 1 and that's Ace.
