Amira Estell is the owner and creative director for Mira Estell handbags and accessories. ‘Mira Estell’ is for the bold, graceful, and stylish woman. She is a woman who knows who she is, what she likes, and what she wants.

Stephanie Dawkins (SD): What inspires the work that you do?

Amira Estell (AE): My inspiration comes from a myriad of things, mostly it comes from me just wanting to be an amazing designer. From as far back as I can remember it’s always been a dream of mine to be a designer.

SD: Tell our readers what sets you and your business ‘Mira Estell’ apart from other businesses in the same industry.

AE: I would say what sets Mira Estell apart from others in my field would be my desire to not follow rules. This means it’s not about the trend it’s all about the feeling for me. One thing is for sure, I do not like being put in a box.

SD: Who are the people you want to help?

AE: My desire is to help women get ‘fly’ and recognize that they make the rules. It’s truly about what makes you feel good. My job is to bring them pieces that will evoke those feelings.

I also host a networking event ‘Mimosas with Mira’ which came about because I saw a void of events that were geared toward fostering connections. I wanted to create a space where people can let down the walls and open up and connect with others. I hosted one here in Delaware last July and I’m in the middle of planning more!

SD: Tell us about a big win you’ve had so far.

AE: A big win for me and I would say it’s all based on perspective. However, a big one for me is being able to move across the country and still see growth in my brand in an organic way.

SD: Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Do you have one? What have you learned from them? Any advice about getting a mentor?

AE: I don’t currently have a mentor per se however there are many women who I look up to and use as inspiration. I do have many colleagues who I can talk to about things that I might be dealing with in business or creatively who can help hash out those things and give great advice. My suggestion is to build a tribe of women who may or may not necessarily be working on things that you are but are willing to pour into you about life and business.

SD: Talk to us about happiness, what makes you happy?

AE: Many things make me happy like being around family and friends just because. Something so simple, yet it brings me so much joy. Another thing I’d say I’m most happy when I feel free and usually that’s when I’m creating the most.

SD: How can our readers keep up with the things you are doing?
