Police say a woman is fighting for her life after being shot while sitting on the steps of her home near 10th and Bennet Streets around noon. She remains in critical condition.
A 28-year-old man was also struck by gunfire in the incident. He was taken to the hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.
Investigators worked across two separate crime scenes located just blocks apart as they searched for evidence. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and police have not announced any arrests.
