The A. Philip Randolph Institute – Delaware Chapter is celebrating the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast. The theme for this event, Celebrate King; As We Honor HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), will highlight not only the accomplishments of the A. Philip Randolph Institute – Delaware Chapter over the past years but also recognizes other notable community members who have made significant contributions to the HBCU community. We would love it if you could join us as one of our special guests as we celebrate Dr. King, A. Philip Randolph, and HBCUs. Our prayer breakfast will take place on Saturday, June 22, at 8:00 a.m. at the Executive Banquet & Conference Center located 205 Executive Drive, Newark, Delaware. The cost of this event is $75 per person with a portion of the proceeds to go towards our chapter initiatives. Lastly, our keynote speaker for this year’s breakfast will be Rev. Dr. Meredith Griffith (Hampton) of Harvest Christian Church. Our worship leader will be Rev. Dr. Doris Griffin (Hampton) of Harvest Christian Church. The dress attire is business casual or HBCU paraphernalia.

The A. Philip Randolph Institute – Delaware Chapter will be continuing the tradition of hosting the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast on June 22. 2024. The A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) is an organization for African American trade unionists. APRI advocates social, labor, and economic change at the state and federal levels, using legal and legislative means. APRI has 150 chapters in 36 states. We will continue the tradition of celebrating the life works and birthday of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and celebrate our founder A. Philip Randolph worked with Dr. King and was the organizer of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963.
The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. prayer breakfast will be held at The Executive Banquet and Conference Center located at 205 Executive Way Newark, Delaware, 19702. Breakfast will begin promptly at 8:00 am. Doors will open at 7:00 am.
The theme this year will be Celebrating King as we Honor HBCUs. We will honor and celebrate HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities).
