The Diamond State Black Film Festival (DSBFF) will showcase 24 selected works created by or featuring People of Color from Sept. 15-17 at Penn Cinema Riverfront and the Delaware Contemporary in Wilmington. 

Filmmakers from around the country touch on relevant topics including love, racial inequities, mental health and more. 

Attendees will have a chance to mingle with the people behind the films and attend workshops on industry trends and topics to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.

SCHEDULE 

Day 1 (Thursday, 9/15) 

Opening night begins at 6 p.m. featuring three films by Delaware artists including the Emmy Award winning film by Delaware State University students. A reception will follow. 

LOCATION: Penn Cinema Riverfront 

Day 2 (Friday, 9/16) 

A full slate of films start at 1 p.m. The day also includes a series of seminars on industry related topics, including the business of filmmaking, small business finances and lending, and screenwriting and pitching your project. 

LOCATION: Penn Cinema Riverfront 

Day 3 (Saturday, 9/16) 

Starting at 11 a.m., several hours of selected works will be shown on multiple screens. LOCATION: Penn Cinema Riverfront 

Awards ceremony begins at 6 p.m. followed by a closing party. All Access pass required to attend this event. 

LOCATION: Delaware Contemporary

ORGANIZERS 

DSBFF is presented by the Gamma Theta Lambda Education Foundation, Inc. (GTLEdF). The foundation aims to promote and create educational opportunities and experiences that empower diverse and equitable communities. GTLEdF has provided more than $125,000 in scholarships to students from New Castle County along with offering culturally relevant arts programming.
