Charlotte Miller-Lacy, Founder and Executive Director of ‘I Am My Sister’s Keeper’ of Wilmington, Delaware is the recipient of the 2022 President’s Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award.
Charlotte Miller-Lacy is a Visionary and an expert in servant leadership. Her personal mission is to leave a legacy of service to communities by impacting lives across generational lines.
Charlotte Miller-Lacy is the Founder and National Executive Director for I Am My Sister’s Keeper, a mentoring organization for young girls. Charlotte’s purpose is to be a Positive Agent of Change in the lives of girls and women. She accomplishes this through her passion for exposing young girls and women to other women who have a story to tell. She connects them to resources, mentoring, travel adventures, and social and economic opportunities for young girls and women to empower themselves. Charlotte believes one has to be intentional in seeking out and engaging with diverse groups of people to grow together and understand the world around us.
I Am My Sister’s Keeper Wilmington Chapter and Headquarters was founded in Wilmington Delaware on October 13, 2016. I Am My Sister’s Keeper now has chapters in Dover Delaware, Chester Pennsylvania, Clinton Maryland, and Atlanta Georgia with inquiries from other cities for future chapters. I Am My Sister’s Keeper has transformed the lives and changed the trajectory of thousands of girls and their families through this organization. This is accomplished through community service and volunteering under the leadership of Charlotte. On January 16, 2023, I Am My Sister’s Keeper will officially celebrate the opening of their new MSK Community Center located at 1009 Sycamore Street, Wilmington, DE 19805.
Charlotte has received numerous awards and accolades. Charlotte is the recipient of the 2022 President’s Lifetime Volunteer Award,. 2022 Toastmaster International Communication and Leadership Award, 2020 Jessie Arrey Leadership and Service Award; 2019 Delaware Today Women in Business Award.
Charlotte has also received numerous awards, Tributes, and recognitions from the State of Delaware; New Castle County and the City of Wilmington Delaware. is one of the contributing authors of “Love Letters to My Girls” and “Hold the Line volume 1.”
Charlotte plays many roles to different people in her life. In addition to the love received by her loving husband, children, and family, being recognized and known as “Momma Lacy” in the community is one that is near and dear to her heart and second to being called grandmom.
