Mrs. Keziah Finney, classroom teacher of 18 years and current 7th-grade science teacher at HB DuPont Middle School, has taken her teaching profession to new heights. 

Additional Information Keziah and her husband James Finney, have created a math intervention program that uses original hip-hop music, created by Mrs. Finney, to enhance basic math skill performance. James Finney, owner of JFINTV® stated that “Music is a powerful recall tool and the right music has the power to give any student the confidence needed to master their basic math.”

Since the summer of 2020, Mrs. Finney has been conducting 30-minute math lessons free to the public in local New Castle County parks. This initiative has been the Finney’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mrs. Finney shared in a recent post on Instagram, @lyricalmath, “Although we currently aren’t popping up at New Castle County Parks due to the change of weather, … we will adapt to meet the needs of our students
