DEFAC plays a critical role in Delaware’s fiscal planning, providing revenue projections that guide state spending and policy decisions. Wise’s appointment brings a seasoned legal and policy expert to the table at a time when economic strategy and financial accountability remain top priorities across the state.

“Brenda Wise brings a strong record of public service and thoughtful leadership that will benefit DEFAC and all Delaware taxpayers,” Governor Meyer said in the announcement.

Wise currently serves as Corporate Counsel and Director of Global Government Affairs at CSC, where she works across more than 30 global jurisdictions, managing legal risk, negotiating agreements, and strengthening relationships between business and government.

Before entering the private sector, Wise played a significant role in Delaware state government. As Director of Policy at the Delaware Office of Management & Budget, she led initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and helped implement the state’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) pilot program—expanding opportunities for historically underrepresented businesses.

Her impact also extends into Delaware’s judicial system, where she helped establish the state’s first Community Court and DUI Treatment Court—programs focused on rehabilitation and restorative justice.

House Speaker Melissa Minor-Brown praised the appointment, calling Wise “an incredibly accomplished and dedicated public servant” whose experience will be valuable as Delaware navigates economic uncertainty.

Beyond her professional work, Wise is deeply engaged in the community. She serves as Chair of the Delaware Women’s Hall of Fame Committee and holds leadership roles with organizations including the Wilmington Hope Commission and Rodel, among others.

Her appointment comes during a period of heightened attention on DEFAC, as state leaders emphasize the importance of maintaining fiscal stability and transparency in Delaware’s budgeting process.

With her blend of legal expertise, policy experience, and community involvement, Wise is expected to bring a balanced and informed perspective to one of Delaware’s most influential financial advisory bodies.
