Long before they became teammates with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chris Godwin and David Sills V were fierce competitors on Delaware youth football fields.
Their rivalry began in Pee Wee football and continued through camps and 7-on-7 competitions during their high school years. Godwin emerged as a standout at Middletown High School before starring at Penn State and helping the Buccaneers win Super Bowl LV.

Sills began his high school career at Red Lion Christian Academy in Delaware before transferring to Eastern Christian Academy in Elkton, Maryland, a football-focused school founded by his father. He eventually earned his opportunity in the NFL and is now sharing the field with the same player he spent years trying to beat.
Now, instead of lining up on opposite sidelines, Godwin and Sills are catching passes together in Tampa Bay. Their journey from childhood rivals to NFL teammates is a rare story of perseverance, mutual respect, and the football talent that has come out of the First State.
