Delaware’s own Emeri “Da Boss” Cotton continues to shine on the national stage at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games.
The 8-year-old sprint standout from Bear has already captured 1st place in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, delivering record-breaking performances that have solidified her status as one of the nation’s fastest young athletes.

Cotton shattered the AAU Junior Olympic and National 100-meter record with a blazing 13.67 seconds before adding another record-breaking performance to win the 200-meter title.
She isn’t finished yet.
Cotton also posted the fastest qualifying time in the 400-meter preliminary round, running 1:02.58 to secure the top seed heading into the 400-meter final on Saturday. With two gold medals already in hand, she’ll have the opportunity to complete an incredible triple-gold performance if she captures the 400m championship.
Representing Cotton Club Posse/Fly City Elite, Emeri continues to build one of the most impressive youth track résumés in the country, earning national titles while rewriting the record books at just 8 years old.
As the AAU Junior Olympic Games continue, all eyes will be on Delaware’s young phenom as she looks to add another national championship to her growing list of accomplishments.
