Hosted by Wilmington City Treasurer DaWayne Sims at Oath ’84, community leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, elected officials, and advocates gathered alongside international guests to celebrate the rich contributions of African American, Caribbean, and African communities.

The evening featured a special performance by international recording artist Afro B and welcomed representatives of the Côte d’Ivoire National Football Team, creating a meaningful opportunity to strengthen connections across the African diaspora while showcasing Wilmington as a city that embraces culture, diversity, and global partnerships.

More than a reception, the event highlighted the importance of financial empowerment, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and creating pathways to opportunity for future generations.

When culture and community come together with purpose, powerful things happen. Wilmington continues to lead by example.
