The analysis used 2024 Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) complaint data on race- and color-based discrimination, combined with workforce figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. By calculating incidents per 100,000 workers, the study identified states with the highest levels of workplace discrimination.

📊 Delaware’s Ranking:

  • Rank: 10th worst in the nation
  • Discrimination Score: 63/100
  • Cases per 100,000 workers: 32.7
  • Complaints Filed: 129 race-based and 31 color-based
  • Workforce Size: 489,100

A spokesperson for Techr explained the significance of the findings:

“Delaware shows the tenth-most concerning patterns of workplace racial discrimination based on EEOC complaint data. The results highlight the urgent need for more substantial diversity and inclusion initiatives, stronger training programs, and more robust anti-discrimination policies in workplaces across these states.”

The full study compared data across all 50 states, offering an extended look at where workplace racial discrimination remains most prevalent.
