When Tyler-Danae arrived in Delaware from Brooklyn, New York, her primary goal was education, not entrepreneurship. She enrolled at Delaware State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources. What began as a college move soon became the foundation for a growing Black-owned beauty business rooted in Delaware.

Adjusting to Delaware’s slower pace after growing up in New York took time, but Tyler-Danae quickly recognized an opportunity. Unlike larger cities where the beauty industry is heavily saturated, Delaware offered space to build a brand with intention. Today, she is primarily based in Dover, traveling throughout the state to provide makeup services for weddings, photoshoots, and milestone events, serving clients across multiple communities.

Tyler-Danae’s passion for makeup started early—at just twelve years old—through experimentation, practice, and learning online. For years, it remained a personal creative outlet. That changed just before college, when encouragement from friends helped her realize the potential to turn her talent into a business. In December 2020, she officially launched Ty Glamz Makeup Artistry. The early days required constant hustle, social media engagement, and persistence, even when bookings were slow. Consistency, she says, was the key to building momentum and a loyal clientele.

Like many entrepreneurs, Tyler-Danae faced challenges beyond logistics. Imposter syndrome and comparison often threatened her confidence, especially while watching other artists online. Over time, she learned that sustainable success requires patience, strategy, and grace. Her brand now specializes in full-glam services for high-stakes moments—especially weddings—where she prioritizes not just appearance, but confidence, comfort, and a personalized experience.

Building a Black-owned beauty business in Delaware has been especially meaningful for Tyler-Danae. As someone who moved to the state without deep local roots, creating a space where the Black community feels seen and valued is a source of pride. Support from other Black creatives—photographers, hairstylists, nail technicians, and fellow entrepreneurs—has helped strengthen her network and expand her reach.

Looking ahead, Tyler-Danae is preparing for major growth. After graduating from esthetician school, she plans to expand her service offerings to include facials, brow tinting, lash lifts, and more. She is also stepping into education, with plans for group masterclasses, online courses, and digital resources. Her long-term goal is to open a dedicated storefront and build a full team—allowing Ty Glamz Makeup Artistry to continue growing while remaining rooted in purpose, community, and Black excellence.
